Love the Beach? Love the Sun? Check out these California Universities

For many college students, a trip to the beach is a luxury that is only realized during summer vacation. However, for the students who are attending some of the universities in California, sand and surf are staples of campus life. These college beach environments provide both educational enrichment and unique extracurricular opportunities.

Beach life is an experience like no other: The lapping of the waves, the feel of the light sea breeze and the smell of the salt is simply amazing. It is no secret that even a weekend trip to the beach leaves one feeling relaxed and refreshed.  A study conducted at the University of Exeter determined that living near the beach significantly improves people’s wellbeing, nearly a tenth as much as getting a new job.  The study also concluded, living near the sea reduces stress and increases a person’s physical activity.  More astonishing was the findings, which reported: people immersed in stressful situations, such as dental surgery, reported feeling less pain during the process, as compared to patients who did not reside near the ocean.
