Stanford University features successful golf programs for both the men and the women. Stanford men’s golf team has won eight national championships (the third most in history). The women’s team won the national title in 2014 -2015.
The head coach of the men’s team, Conrad Ray is a Stanford alumnus. He led the Cardinals to their eighth NCAA championship in 2007. Ray was named the coach in 2016. The University of Southern California is among the top programs. Head coach, Andrea Gaston has led the women’s team to three NCAA championships, has coached five individual NCAA championships and has won multiple coaches of the year awards. Under Coach Chris Zambri, the men’s team has been in the NCAA final every season in his first nine years as head coach, netted 19 event wins and multiple conferences and regional titles. The men’s team has also won 17 individual crowns under Chris Zambri.
University of Southern California women’s team is ranked number 2 in the country, and the men’s team is ranked number 18.

The golf program at the University of California, Los Angeles was built by Eddie Merrins, who served as men’s head coach for 14 years, mentoring 16 all Americans including two NCAA players of the year. Between the men’s and women’s teams, University of California, Los Angeles has won five NCAA division team championships and five runners-up finishes.
Head Coach Derek Freedom has led the men’s team to 23 tournament wins, a national championship and has seen two players win the Jack Nicklaus award, which is awarded to the top player in collegiate golf.
