California Colleges and Universities Who Offer Business and Economic Studies

Stanford University

Stanford University is one of America’s most prestigious universities. With an acceptance rate of 7.1%, Stanford University is ranked as the best higher education institution for business students in the state of California. The Stanford Graduate School of Business offers a Masters of Business Administration, as well as Ph.D. programs . These programs are coveted by post-graduate students throughout the country.

The Stanford MSx Program is a Master’s of Science in management leadership, which can be completed in one year. The program boasts more than 2,000 alumni. The Stanford Graduate School of Business also offers PhD program in business management.

University of California, Berkeley

The University of California, Berkeley offers six degree programs through its Haas School of Business, which was recently ranked third best undergraduate business schools by US News and World Report. Haas School of Business is the second oldest business school in the country and is renowned for its innovativeness, research, and intellectual growth.

Two faculty members are recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize in Economics. Haas School of Business admits 2,200 students annually for both its undergraduate and graduate courses.  The total cost of the undergraduate degree for four years is $53,724. The degree offers options in marketing, finance, accounting, business communications, and organizational behavior. Haas Business School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Pepperdine University

Located in Malibu, Pepperdine University has two schools for business studies. The Frank R. Seaver College of Art and Letters caters to undergraduate business students offering a B. S. in Management. The degree offers four majors and three minors. The George L. Graziado School of Business is for business postgraduate students. The university admits 2,000 postgraduate students annually.

Pepperdine University is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Undergraduate students participate in the BA598 project, which is a practical program that incorporates community service with academics to prepare students to be service leaders. Pepperdine University has been ranked among the best regional universities in the west by the Princeton Review.

Santa Clara University

Santa Clara University business studies are carried out through the Leavey School of Business. Santa Clara University is ranked 10th nationally as one of the best colleges for business degrees. Majors offered include: accounting, finance, marketing, economics, management, operations management, and information systems. Leavey School of Business also offers an executive Masters in Business Administration and a Master’s of Science in: business analytics, finance, information systems and supply chain management.

Community and sustainability are a major focus of the Leavey School of Businesses.  These themes are implemented through:  the Co-Creative Leadership and Sustainability Program.  This program enables undergraduate business students to develop skills in sustainability and The Leavey Neighborhood Prosperity Initiative program allows students to put what they have learned, into action within their community. The school offers eight undergraduate business majors but students have the option of recreating their own majors in business.

California Polytechnic State University Pomona

California Polytechnic State University Pomona offers a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration through its College of Business Administration.  Students taking the B. S. in Business Administration can select the following majors: international business, accounting, marketing management, electronic-business, technology and operations management, computer information systems, and finance/real estate law. The cost of tuition and fees for the four academic years totals $28,064.

The university also offers a Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Accounting.
